won the Calgary Stampedes Orville Strandquist Award for the
Top Rookie Driver in 1996. In 2003 he was the only driver to run penalty
free for all 10 days at the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby,
and won the H.L. Powell Trucking Clean Drive Award for the Rocky Mountain

A
top ten finish at the Klondike Chuckwagon Derby was his best of the
year. Mark is a graduate of the University of Alberta, and is a second
generation chuckwagon driver whose father is chuckwagon legend Kelly
Sutherland, and works the Encana Corporation in the off season. Mark
enjoys hockey, hunting, and training horses when he is not racing

Dina and their two children - Kiera and Dayton, have recently relocated
to Calgary, Alberta.
